Pax Christi

1.07.2005

As every week, a lot of attractions were planned for a whole weekend. I’m not taking (or writing) about sunbathing or shopping - the most exhausting duties during our stay in Frankfurt. Friday afternoon we left our Kolpinghaus and headed for Mamolshaim - small town near Frankfurt.
Some of us got there by car with Barbara and some by U-Bahn (underground No 6). During the way from the station to our destiny, we were the creators of different combinations (maybe seen in figure skating) or moves in Rüdi’s car, cause we were sitting in a complete crush touching a leg or hip(by chance of course:)). Still alive we achieved the meeting point - the ‘headquarters’ of Pax Christi . Ute and Ruedi are the members of this organisation. Firstly, we ate some dinner with famous potato salad (delicious) and with full bellies we were ready for the next point of the meeting.
In our way to the other building, Thomas presented his self-control. He was carrying the glasses and his mission was completed with success. It might have been some kind of test. This time it wasn’t walking down the line or doing the swallow, it was glass. Radziu didn’t want to disappoint the audience and also tried this trick.
On the first floor a group of about 30 people was waiting for us . We were totally surprised by the number and…the mature age of the members. We sat in a circle but we felt as interrogated witnesses or the suspected. They asked us a lot of questions (they really weren’t easy), mostly about the feelings, hopes or expectations. Fortunately Przemek (“call me Hero”) and Gosia (“call me Heroine”) bravely answered the questions, while Radek proved as always his enormous skills as patient listener.
As the time went by, the deadline came. At 10 p.m. sharp all the company moved to Theresa’s and Ruedi’s home. Wow! - that was our first reaction. They live in this picturesque town and invited us (enkelprojekt + Pax Christi members) to a party. In passing, we envy them their house, it has 2 floors and the huge loft. The house isn’t finished yet, but although this detail, it presents great. We shouldn’t be even surprised, cause they are the owners of the decorating firm. The atmosphere was heatened by the candles and lights standing all around us, just like in a romantic Italian restaurant (maybe:)). Wine was pouring in litres, but what is the most vital - Senora Teresa occured to be an excellent as cooking and baking master. Party was definitely superb. We all noticed that we shouldn’t be afraid of Pax Christi, since they are very friendly and open on new people. Encouraged by the guests and wonderful atmosphere we felt good during the conversations , just normally face to face, instead of attacking with questions.
Taking under consideration all the good and bad sides, the party finished with success. Unfortunately part of Polish youth (without Gosia, Aldona, Iza and Ewa) had to leave at 11.40 p.m. to catch the last S-Bahn. We splitted in two cars. In one the driving wheel belonged to ‘Mr Steel Handshake’ having on his board his wife, Thomas, Radek and Kate. The second one was the crazy car with Rüdi and Marta, Junior and Agnieszka. There the stairs appeared. The first car caught the train, but the other group unfortunately, or fortunately, didn’t make it. I’m not sure how to interpret it because they were driven straight home by Rüdi magic vehicle. Earlier girls safely and quickly achieved our home with Barbara (shouldn’t we call her ‘Bandit’?).
The whole group met by the table in the kitchen with foolishly happy faces. Next day and evening is over. Personally, I have to admit that the organizers offer us an intensive course of meeting people, surroundings, as well as culture.
With minds full of new thoughts we ran to take a shower, although some of us weren’t too eager :).
Sweet dreams party-lovers!
